INSTRUCTIONS - HOW TO SUBMIT PAPERS

GENERAL RULES

  1. The abstracts must besubmitted electronically up to 14/06/2021. No papers will be accepted after this date.
  2. Each registration grants the right to submit up to 2 abstracts. One author may register and submit 2 papers and may also co-author other abstracts.
  3. Abstracts will be accepted ONLY if written in English.
  4. The author´s preference for mode of presentation (oral or poster) must be informed at the time the abstract is submitted:
    a) The scientific committee shall confirm, or not, the paper´s presentation mode.
    b) The author shall have paid the registration fee.
  5. Abstracts of less than 250 words will not be accepted.
  6. Descriptions of projects, work intentions, and bibliographical reviews will not be accepted.
  7. The author is responsible for the quality of the texts (grammar, spelling, and typing). Text quality will be considered as an evaluation criterion by the Scientific Committee.

Revise your abstract carefully before submitting it. After the deadline for submitting the papers, it will not be possible to edit or correct the file sent for evaluation.

EVALUATION

The submitted abstracts will be analyzed by the Scientific Committee of the Congress according to the following criteria:

PREPARING THE FILE

The abstracts must be a summarized version of the final presentation and must include the significant results. The abstract must be written in English, have at least 250 words, and include a brief introduction with the reasoning and motivation for the study, including materials and methods, main results and conclusions. It is not necessary to divide the text into chapters.

The abstract must be saved and sent in Word (doc/docx) format and contain no more and no less than 2 pages. Download the template above or define the page format as A4 (21cm x 29,7cm) with upper and lower margins with 2,5 centimeters and the right and left margins with 3 centimeters.

PAGE 1

The first page must contain the text only, with no illustrations.

  1. TITLE
    Use Times New Roman font, size 14, in bold, and centered. Each word must start with a capital letter. Use simple space and, if necessary, more than one line for the title. Leave one blank line under the title.
  2. AUTHORS
    Use Times New Roman font, size 12, aligned and centered. Type the names of the authors in sequence, separated by commas. Each name must be numbered, in superscript, with reference to the author´s affiliation. Use simple space if more than one line is necessary. Specify the corresponding author with an asterisk in superscript. Leave a blank line under the authors´ names.
  3. AFFILIATIONS
    Use Times New Roman font, size 12, alignment on the left. List each author´s affiliation in a line preceded by the corresponding number. Add the author´s e-mail address. Leave a blank line under the affiliations.
  4. TEXT
    Use Times New Roman font, size 12, justified alignment. The text must have only one paragraph. Use the metric system.
  5. REFERENCES
    Specify the references in the text with Arabic numbers between brackets, preferably at the end of sentences. References must be inserted with the appropriate information for [1] articles, [2] books, etc. Examples:

    [2] M.A. Rodrigues, Thin Soli Films, 6 (2000) 1192.

  6. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
    Acknowledgements must be inserted last, also on page 1.

The second page may include figures, tables and graphs, and, if necessary, the continued text.

  1. DIAGRAMS, MICROGRAPHY AND PHOTOGRAPHS
    All of the above must be inserted electronically in the Word file.
  2. TABLES
    Tables must also be inserted electronically in the Word file. Specify the units in parentheses, Use simple spacing between the lines.

INSTRUCTIONS - PRESENTATION

Authors of the accepted papers must confirm participation by paying their registration fees up to one week after acceptance is confirmed.

POSTER

  1. Like the abstracts, the posters must be in English.
  2. The posters will be shown electronically, but the proportion will be that of a physical poster. A PowerPoint file will be provided together with the confirmation of the acceptance.

ORAL COMMUNICATION

  1. The written part must be prepared in English in PowerPoint format (ppt/pptx).
  2. Oral presentations by Brazilians may be given in English or Portuguese. Non-Brazilian speakers may give their presentations in Spanish.

Oral sessions and posters will be visited by evaluators, who will select the best papers and posters of each session for the granting of the Honorable Mention award.
