General travel and arrival in Florianópolis
Flights to the Florianópolis International Airport are available from all major Brazilian cities. The airport is located in the southern part of the Island, ca. 40 km from the Oceania Convention Center. A trip to Ingleses Beach takes about 50 minutes by shuttle service. Regular bus and taxi services are also available. Please check for additional information such as times of shuttle departure and estimated prices of services in our webpage closer to the date of the meeting.
  
Accommodation
Oceania Park Hotel, located next to the Oceania Convention Center, is the official hotel of the 8th Hutton Symposium, and offers special rates for the participants. Our webpage indicates a range of other accommodation options available at Ingleses Beach and neighbouring villages in Florianópolis.
Participants can make their own arrangements with hotels or contact the travel agency LIMATUR through the homepage of the 8thHutton Symposium or at www.limatur.com.br.
Take advantage of low season prices in Florianopolis, bring accompanying persons, but be sure not to book at the last minute, best deals may no longer be available!

Social Program
The optional conference dinner on September 24th will be open to all participants and accompanying persons, and will be charged separately at ~50 US$. Adhesion will open soon.
Optional tour programs will be available for accompanying persons. These visits will be an excellent opportunity to discover Florianópolis, the “Magic Island”, its several famous beaches, lakes, landscapes, sand dunes and quiet villages during a month of nice weather, and less touristic season. Tours to other neighboring localities within the state of Santa Catarina, as the mountain cities (São Joaquim, Urubici), beaches (Camboriú, Garopaba) and the Beto Carrero World (www.betocarrero.com.br), with fun for children, may also be arranged at the hotels and travel agencies.

Cancellation and Refund
A 75% refund of registration costs will be made if cancellations are received before July 31st.  No refund will be available thereafter.
Cancellations for both pre- and post-conference field trips must be received before May 31st, upon which 75% of the cost will be refunded. A full refund will be paid onsite if the field trip is cancelled by the Organizing Committee.

Banking
All major Brazilian banks, with automatic teller machines (ATM), have branches in Florianópolis. All major credit cards are accepted in Brazil.

Visa requirements
If necessary, a formal letter of invitation to obtain a Visa from the Brazilian Embassy will be issued upon receipt of the registration fees.
Participants should check their Visa requirements at the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations website (www.portalconsular.mre.gov.br) or at their local Brazilian Consulate. Please contact the Organizing Committee if you need help with this matter.
